'IHU', New COVID-19 Variant Impacting the Q4 Growth in Corporates

Recently, a new strain of coronavirus 'IHU', the B.1.640.2 has been detected in France. On the other hand, due to Omicron, a few near-term market uncertainties are evolving that are likely to effect economic activity in Q4FY22. According to the reports, rising Omicron cases can influence economic growth by 0.3% in March quarter.

As per the reports, the new COVID-19 variant 'IHU' can be more infectious and resistant to vaccines. Researchers also saying that the new variant comprises 46 mutations – even more than Omicron. However, as the variant is not yet detected in other countries, the World Health Organization (WHO) is yet to label it a variant under investigation.
